One of the tragedies of the coronavirus situation is that many children have been going without school lunches that they and their families may have relied upon to help. A couple of local restaurants are stepping up to give those kids and their families an option, and to help them out in this time of need. Moline Regal Cinemas Theater Closing Down Due To Coronavirus

Get ready for even more streaming and Blu Rays. The Moline movie theater is shutting down due to the coronavirus. According to an e-mail release sent out tonight, Regal Cinemas, which operates 543 locations in the United States, will be shutting down all of its movie theaters starting Tuesday due to the coronavirus pandemic. World Labyrinth Day will be held Saturday, May 2, as people from around the world, including those in the Quad-Cities, will participate in the event. Sponsored by The Global Labyrinth Society, the idea is that around the world, people will walk a labyrinth for peace at 1 p.m. in their time zone. Thirty eight countries, and many places across the U.S. participated last year. Quad City Arts Announces Arts Dollars Grant Awards

Finally! Here’s some good news! Quad City Arts is pleased to announce the 2020 Arts Dollars grant awards to 24 nonprofit organizations, totaling just over $85,000. Since 1979, Quad City Arts grants have provided funding for local artists and non-profit organizations to enrich the quality of life in the Quad City region through the arts. Since 1990 alone, more than $1,000,000 has been awarded. Arts Dollars funds are generously provided by the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation and the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency. Quad City Music Guild has cancelled “The Secret Garden” due to concerns over coronavirus. The theater group released the following statement today: Today, after reviewing the information presented at the QC COVID-19 Press Conference, Quad City Music Guild reached out to the Rock Island Department of Public Health for clarification on their guidelines and timelines. Moline’s TaxSlayer Center has postponed all events for 30 days due to concerns about the coronavirus. Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker announced plans to postpone all events expected to draw over 1000 people over the next month, and TaxSlayer has followed suit.
