Teen Audiobook Club Starts This Week At Davenport Public Library

Teens (11-19) are invited to join Miss Amber on Tuesdays beginning June 22nd at 2:00 pm in the Fairmount Street Library’s Garden for a new teen audiobook club! This summer we will be listening together to one of 2020’s best-selling and award-winning books, Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism and You written by Jason Reynolds & Ibram X. Kendi and read by Jason Reynolds. As a group, we will listen to portions of the audiobook and work on quiet projects in the garden including gardening, crafting, and meditating. Rock Island High School Sending Six Wrestlers To State Tournament

Rock Island has earned SIX State Wrestling Tournament Qualifiers! In the sectionals this weekend in Geneseo, the team finished third place, and Aoci Bernard took 1st, Daniel McGhee, Tyler Barbee, and Manny Limon took 2nd, Kyle Gant took 3rd, and Sammy Niyonkuru took 4th. Western Illinois University Celebrates Spring Graduates

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – A total of 1,017 students earned academic degrees or post-baccalaureate certificates after the Spring 2021 semester at Western Illinois University. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to 679 graduates. Academic distinction was awarded to baccalaureate graduates who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: Summa Cum Laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; Magna Cum Laude, 3.75-3.89 GPA; and Cum Laude, 3.6-3.74 GPA.
