Storm forward Connor Fries has been named the SPHL’s Warrior ‘Player Of The Week.’  It is the first player of the week honor for a Storm player in franchise history.  Per the SPHL: “The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced that Connor Fries of the Quad City Storm was named the Warrior Hockey/SPHL Player of the Week for December 30-January 5. The Stanley Cup returns to the Quad Cities for the first time in four years as the Storm celebrate Radar’s 1st birthday Friday December 20th at 7:00 P.M.The TaxSlayer Center doors will open to the general public at 6:00 P.M. and the Stanley Cup will remain on display on the arena concourse until the start of the third period. The Quad City River Bandits could be sinking, or changing ships, losing their affiliate as an official minor league team to Major League Baseball in 2020.
