Midwest’s Favorite Marathon Returns to Quad Cities

Are you ready for the Midwest’s favorite marathon? The TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon will take place this weekend in downtown Moline, with a run for everyone! There will be the Marathon, a Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Run/Walk, Kids Micro-Marathon and the Pump-N-Run. Are you ready for some FOOTBALL, vintage style, AND some rugby??? On September 28th 2019, Vintage Football returns to Douglas Park in Rock Island! The game this year will celebrate the 100th season of the NFL. Season 1 started right here in Douglas Park and we are excited to kickoff the 100th season the same way! Toporowski Headed Home As Assistant Coach Of Storm

The Quad City Storm has added Jake Toporowski to its hockey staff as an assistant coach.  Toporowski is the first assistant coach in the history of the franchise. Run with Carl is celebrating 25 Years! That’s right, the annual Labor Day “Run with Carl” race is celebrating their 25th anniversary this Monday Sep 2 at Bettendorf Life Fitness Center (2222 Middle Road Bettendorf). The Run with Carl is the primary funding vehicle for the Carl D. Schillig Memorial Fund which supports college scholarships for graduating Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley High School students. The Quad City Storm promised to be the “community’s team” during their inaugural season last year and they put their money where their promise was. Davenport Babe Ruth Baseball’s 15 U team hit a towering home run in the state championship this week, winning the title and bringing home the gold to the Quad-Cities! And now, the team, coached by Brandon Jens, is getting ready to head to the Midwest Plains Regionals next week in North Dakota, after defeating Davis County in the finals 9-3.
