Quad City Storm Open Their Season In Moline's TaxSlayer Center Oct. 15

The Quad City Storm will open the 2021-2022 season Friday October 15th, 2021 at the TaxSlayer Center.  The game will be the first for the Storm since Sunday March 8th, 2020 and will end a 505 day stretch without professional hockey in the Quad Cities. The Storm’s full home schedule, opponents, road schedule and promotional schedule will all be announced later this Summer. Quad City Storm Selects Its Protected List For 2021-22 Season

MOLINE, IL-The Quad City Storm has selected its protected list for the 2021-2022 season.  The protected list includes players from the team’s 2020-2021 training camp roster that was established prior to the cancellation of last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The following players are not eligible to sign a training camp contract for the 2021-2022 season with any SPHL team other than the Storm. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the team and individual qualifiers for the 2021 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championships.  The 69th annual event will take place at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., May 18-21. Marc Polite In As New Basketball Coach At Rock Island High School

On May 11, 2021, the Rock Island-Milan School District Board of Education approved the hire of Marc Polite to be the boys’ head basketball coach at Rock Island High School. The hire comes after former head coach Thom Sigel announced his retirement early this year. Coach Polite is a familiar face in the Quad Cities and has 20 years of coaching at the NCAA Division 1, Division 2, junior College, and high school levels. Davenport Teacher And Coach Ira Dunsworth Honored With Quad-Cities Track Named After Him

For 36 years, Davenport Schools teacher and coach Ira Dunsworth has provided support and guidance to students and athletes in the Quad Cities area. To honor him for his achievements and community spirit, the board of the Davenport Community School District has agreed to name the track at Brady Street Stadium after him. The decision was made at a regular school board meeting on March 22. Dunsworth served as the head track and cross-country coach at Central High School from 1965 to 1995.
