East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Players Selected For Illinois ODP Team

Three players from the East Moline Silvis Soccer Club U12 Spartans have made the final cut for the Illinois State Soccer Team in their age group, and seven players overall from EMSSC made the cut! Eli Nache and Jonas Cortez made the final cut for the state team for 2008, and Junior Garibay made the pool team! Other EMSSC players to make their respective teams include Deontae Nache and Austin VandeGeest, who made the 2006 team, Addi Schatteman, who made the girls 2007 team, and Logan Schaeffer, who made the 2007 team! The Quad City Botanical Center is hosting its annual Greenhouse Stock Plant Sale Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9. Times both days are 10 AM – 5 PM. The public is invited to shop the May weekend sale and pre-order plants by April 17. Pre-orders can be picked up May 8-9 during the sale. Illinois Youth Soccer has been working to stop the spread of coronavirus through youth soccer by cancelling events through, at least, April 15, with more cancellations potentially being announced. They’ve got the backing of one of the greatest soccer players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo. Today, Ronaldo issued a statement about the coronavirus through his instagram. It’s time for the only bi-state St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the country! And it’s right here in the Quad Cities! The Grand Parade XXXV takes place Saturday Mar 14. The parade begins at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of 4th Avenue and 23rd Street in Rock Island. It will then wind its way west through downtown Rock Island following 4th Avenue to 20th Street, then to 3rd Avenue to 17th Street and finally to 2nd Avenue to the Centennial Bridge.
