QC Pride is celebrating with the bi-state Pride Parade Saturday! QC Pride parade’s starting location will be Iowa and 2nd St. in downtown Davenport, Iowa with the route ending at Western Avenue. Start time is 11 a.m. Spectators should gather on 2nd St. along the parade route. As a spectator, you’re invited to join the parade along the route when the last float passes you. QC Pride is excited to announce that they will be hosting a week of events ending with the annual UNITY PRIDE parade during the week of SEPTEMBER 6 – 12. Effective Monday, Aug. 2, Sarah Stevens has been named interim CEO of The Project of the Quad Cities. Varieties Nightclub, 822 W. 2nd St., will be hosting a Juneteenth event titled Black Magic: Juneteenth Edition. The event begins Saturday, June 19 at 10:30 p.m. While there are other venues which host Drag nights and events, Varieties Nightclub is the only Drag Bar in the Quad Cities, which is a fitting place to celebrate both Queer and Black liberation this June. At a time of unprecedented economic, racial, social and health upheaval, some Quad-Cities LGBTQ leaders are taking comfort in the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on workplace civil rights.
