Reach For The Stars At Planetarium Open House

Augustana College’s John Deere Planetarium Fall Open House is officially here! This Saturday Oct 28 from 7:30 – 9 p.m. the planetarium will be open to the public at no cost. Indoor and outdoor programs will be led by planetarium director Dr. Lee Carkner. A planetarium show will be exposing the wonders of the night sky, on the facility’s 30-foot dome with the Spitz A3P projector. Do you have little ones anxiously anticipating Halloween, looking for a reason to try out those costumes? Well, there’s no better way to kick off the holiday than some family fun in the park! The Moline Parks and Recreation Department is hosting their annual Spooktacular time at Prospect Park in Moline, this Saturday Oct 21! And admission is free! Kick off the fall season this weekend with DeWitt’s Great Pumpkin Festival! This Sunday, Oct 15 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Downtown DeWitt will transform into a festival filled with pumpkins, scarecrows and fun! Starting at 11 a.m. the Women of Welton will hold a baking contest featuring dishes containing apple, pumpkin or nuts. A bake sale will follow!
