Rock Island Public Library Announces Expansion of Digital Magazine Collection

Rock Island Public Library (RIPL) has vastly expanded its selection of digital magazines available through RBdigital, a service of Recorded Books (Prince Frederick, MD.)  After a year on the RBdigital platform, RIPL moved from a basic subscription of just 50 magazines to an unlimited subscription offering access to 3,200 magazines. RBdigital features full-color, digital magazines for instant desktop reading, mobile streaming, and mobile-app download, available anytime with an internet connection. Mississippi Valley Fair Canceled Due To Quad-Cities Leap In Covid-19 Cases

A little more than two weeks after the Mississippi Valley Fair announced it would scale back its offerings this year, including no big-name grandstand acts, on Tuesday it said it would cancel the 101-year-old tradition altogether. The fair, at 2815 W. Join the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department for a Drive-in Movie in the Park on Saturday, July 11. Dolittle, a family friendly movie, will be the feature presentation at the Campbell Sports Complex. Gates will open for cars to park at 7:30 pm.  All cars must be parked by 8:30 pm, for the movie to begin at dusk.
