Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) announced nearly $2 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Skip-A-Long Family and Community Services in Moline for Early Head Start programs. Record $137,200 in Scholarships Go To Rock Island High School Seniors Tonight

The Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation (RIMEF) will award a record $137,200 to the Class of 2022 at its Austin Academic Achievement Awards and RIMEF Scholarships Night on May 11, 6:30p.m. in the RIHS Auditorium. 58 accomplished Rock Island High School (RIHS) seniors will receive $35,000 in Austin Academic Achievement Award (AAAA) scholarships and $102,200 RIMEF Named scholarships at the annual ceremony. The Quad City Botanical Center has begun construction on a new Ability Garden. Construction is expected to last about 8 weeks. The new Ability Garden concept plan was designed by Eric Hornig of Hitchcock Design Group and will be constructed by Outdoor Innovations. This concept plan will be referenced throughout the construction process, as the entire garden will be custom built throughout all the steps to ensure appropriate mobility. Bettendorf Public Library’s Creation Studio to present a Sewing Machine Workshop

The Creation Studio at the Bettendorf Public Library houses a myriad of maker tools available for public use. On Tuesday, May 17th, the Library will host a workshop intended to introduce an available tool to creators. Creation Studio Tool Training: Sewing machines is a limited-sized workshop open to participants aged 16 and older which will cover the basics of using the Studio’s Brother CS6000i sewing machines.
