Augustana College’s next studio show “Medea” provides a new take on a powerful classic

Augustana College Theatre Arts Department will present “Medea” by Euripides, translation by Nicholas Rudall, January 13 – 16, 2022. Performances on Thursday through Saturday will begin at 7:30 pm and 1:30 pm on Sunday. The production will be held in the Honkamp Blackbox Theatre located on the third floor of the Brunner Theatre Center. MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – It’s a grand day for Col. Rock IV (aka Ray) as his sweet face now graces an officially licensed and limited edition bobblehead, produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, and today’s unveiling happens to be on National Bobblehead Day. Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) will host Icestravaganza, presented by Rubberstamps.net, beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, through 10 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Freight House and LeClaire Park in downtown Davenport. The free-to-attend event features beautiful ice carvings (36,000 pounds’ worth) on display all three days. Do you know someone between the ages of 10-14 who loves to read? Have them join the German American Heritage Center Reading Club throughout 2022! On the second Sunday of each month, students will be asked to meet -in person or via Zoom- to discuss that month’s selection, hear the perspective of others, and socialize with their peers. New Poetry Broadsides Exhibit On Display at Muscatine's Sunrise Galleries

A new art exhibit of poetry broadsides will be on display at Sunrise Galleries, 114 E 2nd Street, in Downtown Muscatine. The new art show is an exhibit of Poetry Broadsides, winners (mostly) of the James Hearst Poetry Prize, interpreted by artist-printer Julie Russell-Steuart. Broadside letterpress work was done by Caveworks Press & the North American Review.
