The Bettendorf Public Library’s Craft-Tea program is designed to allow makers of all disciplines to create and connect with others. On Thursday, October 20th,  Craft Tea will start an updated schedule by holding the program on the third Thursday of each month att 7:00 PM. Craft Tea meets in the Creation Studio of the Bettendorf Public Library located at 2950 Learning Campus Dr. in Bettendorf. A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Dr. Frank Lupton Pavilion at Horn Field Campus will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with remarks at 4:15 p.m. The event is hosted by the Western Illinois University Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. It will be held rain or shine. Lupton, also known as “Doc,” was a professor emeritus from WIU’s RPTA program, who retired in 1993. The Quad City Symphony Orchestra will present “Two Remain” on Saturday, October 22 at Augustana College’s Brunner Theatre. “Two Remain” is a moving and emotional two-act chamber opera by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer is based on the true stories of two Holocaust survivors. In Act I, Krystyna Żywulska, assisted by ghosts of Auschwitz, shares her story of survival with a journalist.
