The Scottish American Society of the Quad Cities presents a Celtic Night Out of music and culture on Saturday, July 17, from 6pm to 10pm at the Riverfront Grille, 4619 34th Street, Rock Island. The event features appetizers by Riverfront Grille and live performances by the Quad Cities own bagpipe band, Black Hawk Pipes and Drums, along with the Barley House band, performing Irish, Scottish, and American music with Celtic roots. A Western Illinois University School of Agriculture alumna has been chosen to attend a 10-day training at Texas State University (TSU) to bring more detailed agriculture mechanics skills to her high school students in Chester, IL. Emily Millburg, a 2019 graduate with a degree in agriculture education, is in her second year as an agriculture teacher at Chester High School near St. Louis, MO.
