LeClaire Library receives large donation from local artist

The Friends of the LeClaire Community Library have received a large donation of art prints from local artist Raphael Iaccarino and held a reception today to allow library patrons to meet and thank the artist.  Iaccarino is an internationally recognized artist whose paintings are exhibited in public and private collections worldwide. Eight of the donated prints, some quite large, are vivid watercolors which were inspired by the magnificence of the tropical rain forest and jungles.  Six prints are architectural landscapes or interior roomscapes. Illinois House Passes Resolution Supporting New Bison Bridge Proposal

Rock Island’s Illinois State Representative Mike Halpin (D-Rock Island) led a bi-partisan resolution in support of the Bison Bridge Foundation’s proposal to repurpose the Interstate 80 bridge over the Mississippi River. The proposal passed through the Illinois house with bi-partisan support. Bison Bridge’s proposal, led by East Moline environmentalist, Chad Pregracke, includes  a wildlife crossing on one side of the bridge and a park on the other.
