The Quad Cities has a new remedy for all that ails them, as Dr. San Guinary brings his Creature Feature T.V. program to the Saturday night airwaves at 11 p.m. starting on July 4 on COZI 6.3. The one-hour program, hosted by Doc and his cast of cutie nurses and wacky characters, showcases a wide variety of horror and science fiction schlock classics, as well as locally produced material and shorts from around the globe. Galva Part of a New 2020 Virtual Summer Concert Series

Like most entertainment around the world during coronavirus, the Levitt AMP Galva Music Series moved online this summer. All recipients of a 2020 national grant for a free summer music series will be part of a virtual free broadcast, all available on levittamp.org/virtual. Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund Passes $1 Million In Donations

The Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund at the Quad Cities Community Foundation has hit another milestone. More than $1 million has now been swiftly granted back out into the region to support eastern Iowa and western Illinois’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes an additional $400,000 announced this week to support nonprofits specifically in the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s service area of Rock Island County, as well as the service areas of three Geographic Affiliates in Carroll and Whiteside Counties. The coronavirus crisis continues to play havoc with outdoor music events in the Quad-Cities, as more summer series are being canceled, while others optimistically remain on the 2020 calendar. Will the Quad-Cities soon be missing one or both of its signature late-night diner spots? Steak n Shake announced today that 51 more of its stores nationwide will be closing up. The company had already closed up 57 restaurants nationwide earlier this year due to financial woes exacerbated by covid-19.
