BREAKING: United Way Quad Cities Gives Out $2.9 Million to 54 Local Nonprofits

BREAKING NEWS: United Way Quad Cities on Tuesday announced it issued $2.9 million in grants to 54 local nonprofits, grassroots organizations and others serving the residents of Scott and Rock Island counties. The Strategic Impact Grants are being awarded to advance equity and improve education, income and health outcomes in the Quad-Cities. Visit Quad Cities on Tuesday announced a new collaboration with local attractions for their new QC Family Pass. The pass provides a fun and interactive experience for visitors and Quad Citizens to spend time with family and friends. BREAKING: Great News For Covid Cases In Illinois, Quad-Cities!

There’s been fantastic news in regard to covid cases in Illinois and the Quad-Cities! Yesterday, we reported that Genesis Health Systems was reporting no hospitalizations from covid. Today, the Rock Island County Health Department reports no new cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases remains at 14,998. Currently, there are no patients hospitalized in the county with the virus. Good News For Covid In The Quad-Cities! Genesis Reports Zero Hospitalizations For First Time In Over A Year

Good news on the Quad-Cities covid front! This morning for the first time in 466 days, Genesis Health System has no COVID-19 positive patients hospitalized. The last time Genesis hospitals did not have a COVID-positive patient was March 13, 2020, when Genesis had its first positive patient hospitalized. Since everyone hospitalized with any condition is tested, there may be Patients Under Investigation (PUI) in the hospital, but there are no COVID-19 patients who have tested positive this morning. Talented Moline Artist Paints Buddy Bison to Promote Bison Bridge Project

If you’re at the Food Truck Fight on LeClaire’s levee tonight, or the Saturday Farmers Market at the Davenport Freight House, there’s a good chance you’ll see a bright blue and green newcomer. Buddy Bison – a big, colorful fiberglass statue – was painted this week by 28-year-old Moline artist Atlanta Dawn, to help promote the ambitious Bison Bridge project, to repurpose the existing I-80 bridge. She has volunteered with Living Lands & Waters over the years, the environmental nonprofit led by Chad Pregracke, who in March announced the Bison Bridge plan.
