BREAKING NEWS: New Iowa covid-19 numbers show a positive trend, but are still on “high alert,” with over 1,000 daily new cases for the eighth week in a row — a significant increase over summer’s 100 per day average. The outbreak of COVID-19 and the preventive measures recommended to slow spread of the virus had at least one unexpected result. Seasonal influenza cases disappeared in the United States. The Genesis Flu-Free Quad Cities effort will be back this fall to hopefully continue the steep decrease of flu diagnoses in the region.
