The Bettendorf Public Library’s Trax in the Stax program is returning to in-person programming on Thursday, September 23rd at 7:00 PM. The unique music listening event will feature librarian Lucas Berns as he offers attendees a brief introduction to the popular “Rough Guide” CD series. Iowa DOT Holding Public Meetings For I-80 Expansion Options

The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting to discuss the Interstate 80 corridor study in Scott County. The I-80 study includes evaluation of potential capacity expansion options on I-80 and related improvements at the interchanges along the corridor. The purpose of the meeting is to gather input and discuss alternatives along the corridor from approximately 3.5 miles west of the I-280 interchange, east to the Southwest 35th Street overpass. The book club is always seeking new members to participate  in the club’s discussion of mysteries and thrillers. Bettendorf Public Library Bookstore Increasing Hours

The operating hours of the book shop run by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library have been increased by adding Wednesday hours 12:00-4:00.  The book shop, located in the previous coffee shop area, will be open Monday through Wednesday 12:00-4:00 and Saturday 11:00-3:00 beginning September 7.  Several thousand books are on sale, most for $1 each, with pocket books, chapter books and teen books for $0.50 and children’s books for $0.25.  Stock is regularly rotated with no books on display more than two months.  All proceeds from the shop are used to support library programs.
