West Hartford, CT artist Kasey Ramirez will have her solo exhibition, “Remnants,” on display through Feb. 18, at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Ramirez received an MFA in printmaking from Indiana University, and a BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is now an assistant professor and head of printmaking at the Hartford Art School. Iowa Grant Opportunities Now Open for Summer Youth Internship Projects

Governor Kim Reynolds today announced the opening of another round of funding opportunities for employers, nonprofits, educational and community groups seeking to provide high school youth with internship opportunities. Now available for the fourth consecutive year, Future Ready Iowa’s Summer Youth Internship Project grants are designed to help youth explore and prepare for high-demand careers while gaining work experience and developing the personal attributes necessary to succeed in the workplace. A new art exhibit of poetry broadsides will be on display at Sunrise Galleries, 114 E 2nd Street, in Downtown Muscatine. The new art show is an exhibit of Poetry Broadsides, winners (mostly) of the James Hearst Poetry Prize, interpreted by artist-printer Julie Russell-Steuart. Broadside letterpress work was done by Caveworks Press & the North American Review. Julie Russell-Steuart’s work will be on exhibit through February 6.  She will be at Sunrise Galleries for her show’s closing weekend to host a poetry reading on Friday, February 4 at 7PM and a poster-printing workshop on Saturday,... Read More

Quad City Arts is pleased to announce Arts Dollars grants for the 2022 cycle. Applications are welcome from individual artists, K-12 schools, and non-profit organizations partnering with artists. All art forms are eligible. Since 1990, Quad City Arts has supported the local art community by awarding more than $1,000,000 in grants to local artists, non-profit organizations, and schools.
