Center For Living Arts Moving Into Establishment Space

The Establishment Theater has a new tenant — and it’s one that’s familiar to the downtown Rock Island District. The Center for Living Arts, run by Dino and Tina Hayz at their former home on 4th Avenue in downtown Rock Island for the past 13 years, will spend their 14th and subsequent years at the Establishment Theater, 220 19th Street. Mississippi Valley Blues Festival Moves Into Murphy Park

The highly anticipated Mississippi Valley Blues Festival returns this year, but in a new location! Due to the record-breaking flood of 2019, Mississippi Valley Blues Society announced the relocation of the 34th Mississippi Valley Blues Festival to Murphy Park at The Bend in East Moline (900 Bend Boulevard East Moline). Local Union 25 Takes Home Safety Excellence Awards

In celebration of National Safety Month, the ILLOWA Construction Labor and Management Council awarded 31 area contractors with safety excellence awards during a recent luncheon at the Milan Camden Community Center. Five of those contractors are signatory to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 25. Since the late 1990s, ILLOWA has gathered statistics on the number of hours worked and the number of site incidents during the prior calendar year. Local Teen Keeping His Spirits High After Heart Transplant

A local teen has received a second chance at life and plans to make the most out of it. Cameron Cavins, a student at Moline High School, has experienced more in his 16 years than most have in a lifetime. When he was almost two years old, Cameron’s doctor discovered a heart murmur.
