Circa Holding Auditions For ‘Pirate’ Holiday Sequel
Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse is pleased to announce auditions their holiday children’s musical, Jingle Arrgh The Way. This new musical is the sequel to the theatre’s highly successful 2015 production of How I Became A Pirate.
Auditions will be held Saturday, October 29 at 9:00 AM at the theatre, 1828 3rd Ave., Rock Island, Illinois. Those auditioning are asked to bring a résumé and current photo; prepare 16 bars of a traditional Broadway song; bring sheet music in the proper key; and be prepared to dance and read from the script, if asked to do so. An accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals will be primarily during mornings and afternoons from November 14 through November 23. There will be 15 morning and afternoon performances from November 25 until Sunday, December 26.
Director Andrea Moore and musical director Sue Williams are seeking three adult performers, to complete the cast of 7. The other four roles are being filled by returning pirates from Circa 21’s previous production of “How I Became a Pirate.”
Jeremy Jacob: a boy of age 10 or thereabouts. Looking for an adult actor to fill this role, male or female. (The character will remain male, even if a female actor is cast.)
Sharktooth: a foreboding pirate with a scowling grin. He has an eye patch on his eye and wears a sword, but he is a “sensitive guy.” Looking to cast a male actor with some dance experience.
Santa: jolly old elf, lives at the North Pole, in charge of presents, reindeer, elves, etc.
All roles in this professional production will be paid. Please address any questions to Denny Hitchcock, producer, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
