Rock Island’s Big Swing Brewing Company, 113 18th Street, announced today they will be closing immediately.

Rock Island's Big Swing Closing Immediately, Alludes To Plans To Reopen After CovidIn a video released on social media, the restaurant and brewing company housed in the old Blue Cat Brewing Company spot made the announcement.

Over a montage of pictures of the staff and patrons, the message scrolled:

“And suddenly you know, it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings…

“We will miss each and every one of you, and from our family to yours…

“We have shared many laughs over burgers, tears over drinks, dancing on our faux patio, but now covid has won, as the owners announced our immediate closure. Until we meet again, it won’t be long…”

Big Swing ownership could not be reached at this time for comment. It’s believed that the business is going into more of a hibernation due to the intrinsic difficulties of operating due to covid, and could reopen at a later date once the pandemic and its difficulties pass.

We’ll miss Big Swing, and hope to see it again sometime soon!
