The first round of the battle is here! On Friday, January 27 Rock Island Brewing Company, (RIBCO) will be hosting its first of 3 rounds for their Battle of the Bands. This event starts at 9 p.m. and lasts until 12:45 a.m. with three bands rocking the stage: Mea Culpa, Devils Heat, and Soldout War. The winner is determined by crowd vote. There Is a $3 cover price or $1 with a Battle of the Bands flier. RIBCO is located at 1815 2nd Avenue. The second round of this battle will take place on February 3, followed by the third round on February 10 and the Final Round taking place on February 24. Kicking off the night at 9:30 p.m. is Soldout War. This Rock band is comprised of members Dylan Drury, Joe Ballard, Brett Rauch, and Travis Ray and they have an upcoming debut album titled “Burn.” Their next performance is at The Redstone Room on February 25. Taking the stage at 10:45 p.m. is Devils Heat. Established in 2011, this Hard-Rock band from Clinton consists of three members: Matt Paul, Ryan Donoho, and Alex Van Buer. The band was originally started as a solo blues-rock project by Matt. He released a solo album under the tile Devils Heat before being joined by Ryan and then Alex later on. They have since evolved their sound from blues-rock to heavy-rock. Their next performance is at Hook’s Pub on January 28. To follow the band and hear their music, please visit this link:

Wrapping up the night at midnight is Mea Culpa. This local metal band was founded in August 2014 and consists of four members: Leo Rinehart, Cole Swank, Joseph Perment, and Kaleb Dykema.
