Tweed Ride Rolls Into VillageIt’s time to pull out your favorite tweed suits, bowties, alpaca coats and vintage bicycles. That’s right, it’s time for the 5th Annual Quad Cities Tweed Ride!

This Saturday, Oct 14 ladies and gentlemen will be joining together at the Village Theatre in the Village of East Davenport (2113 E 11th Street Davenport) between 10-11:30 a.m. A donation of $20 is appreciated, and you can pre-register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/o/two-wheels-and-tweed-social-club-14834263015. There are only 200 armbands, so register early.

While riders are socializing and discussing the weather, bagpipes will be playing in the courtyard from 11:30 – Noon. The bicycles will begin their journey at noon. From 1-2:15 p.m. picnics will commence at Credit Island’s Suerat Statue Garden. You may bring your own lunch or order from Lagomarcino’s (they will deliver to the park). Enjoy your picnic ambience while listening to live music provided by the Quad-Cities Ukulele Club.

The Tweed Ride will then continue to Driftwood Pub (1201 E River Dr Davenport). From 3-3:45 a tandem promenade will take place. Prizes will be awarded to the loveliest couples. This is when those fancy hats, wicker baskets and flowers will become very beneficial.

Riders will then head back to the Village Theatre from 4-5:30 p.m. for an awards ceremony, prize announcements and a bike raffle.

For those interested in participating in this year’s Tweed Ride, there will be a Pre-Tweed Social on Friday, Oct 13 at Great River Brewery from 4-10 p.m. Pre-registration can take place at this time. It will be a fun way to kick-off your tweed-filled weekend!

And remember, the term “overdressed’ will NOT be used at the 5th Annual Quad Cities Tweed Ride!
