Public Works Week Celebrations Blast OffIt’s National Public Works Week! Come celebrate with the Bettendorf Public Works Department this weekend!

On Saturday May 20 from 9 a.m until 1 p.m. the Bettendorf Public Works Department will be hosting their annual ‘Public Works Day Open House and Recycling Fair’ at the Maintenance Center, 4403 Devils Glen Rd Bettendorf. This event is FREE and open to the public.

This is a great opportunity to check out the large public works equipment up close and personal. They will have garbage and recycling trucks, a sewer cleaning machine, street sweeper and loader. Information will be given on single-streaming recycling, traffic cameras and the one-man patcher. Master Gardeners will be available for tips on gardening.

Face painting will also be provided and children will be able to paint a snow plow blade. Mo Mallard will be in attendance from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

There will be free coffee, soda, popcorn, ice cream, hot dogs and bratwursts!
