Planning On Getting Married Soon? Each wedding day is a unique expression of that couple’s love for each other, and Brides Night Out will help those pairs create celebrations that will lead to lasting memories. The event unveils 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Rendezvous Banquet Facility & Catering, 3127 Lucas St, Muscatine.

Hosted by Linda’s Linens and Bridal Boutique and Rendezvous Banquet Facility & Catering, it’s for engaged and soon-to-be-engaged couples and offers a one-stop-shopping spot for helping them plan their big day.

People can listen to live music, while sipping beverages and noshing on samples of various foods as they look over a variety of options from experienced vendors from Muscatine and the surrounding area.

“We’re going to have a variety of dresses available and models wearing them, for both brides and bridesmaids, to give people a feel for what we’ve got to offer,” said Linda Starcevich, owner of Linda’s Linens and Bridal Boutique and one of the organizers of the event. “We’ll also have a number of table linens and other items so brides can check out what they might want.”

Linda’s has been open since March 2017 and this is their first event of this type, but likely not the last.

“It’s going to be a surprise for me to see how it turns out, but I think it will go really well,” Starcevich said. “We’re really the only shop in Muscatine that offers what we do, which is an opportunity for people to come to one place for all their bridal needs and look at a wide selection of dresses, linens and other décor.”

So what are some of the trends in weddings for this year that will be reflected at the event?

“We’re seeing people inviting fewer guests but having more extravagant décor and weddings,” Starcevich said. “Also, silver and gold are the hot colors of accents this year. And everything is becoming more personalized and we’re able to accommodate that. Whatever the couple’s taste is, we can help them choose what is most meaningful for them.”

Being able to get a feel first-hand for all of the aspects is important, and hence the reason for the event, she added.

“Usually you’ll have to go around to a bunch of different places and it can be a lot of work, and sometimes even then you don’t get a real feel for what the dresses might look like, what the food tastes like, what the décor is, with this it’s more like being there so you can really get an idea of what it’s going to be like.”

That also helps lower the considerable stress factor surrounding an event as monumental as a wedding, she said.

“It’s our job to make things easier so that the bride and groom and everyone involved can just relax and enjoy their day,” Starcevich said. “I’m hoping this is going to be a fun event that provides a lot of information and resources for people and helps to do that.”
