Nine-Year-Old Having His Debut Art Exhibit At Taste BudsJackson Leary is certainly celebrating his ninth birthday in a unique way.

The third grader is having his first solo art exhibit as the latest Taste of Q-C Art at Taste Buds, 1629 2nd Ave., Rock Island (in the District, across from Bennigans).

Jackson is the son of QuadCities.com digital media director Sean Leary and the co-host of Eventures with Sean and Jackson, a podcast on QuadCities.com. He’s had his art exhibited at Rozz Tox and local school art exhibits but this is his first solo show. He’s also co-authored and illustrated five books with his father, the latest being We Are All Characters.

Nine-Year-Old Having His Debut Art Exhibit At Taste BudsAn opening reception for the show will be held from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons can meet and talk to the artist and indulge in free coffees, smoothies, candy, snacks and more.

A Taste of Q-C Art is sponsored by QuadCities.com and features new local artists every two weeks, with receptions every other Friday at Taste Buds.
