Moonlight Parade Shines On Silvis

The 16^th Annual Moonlight Festival in Silvis is officially upon us! The theme this year is ‘America At Play’ so come on out and play!

On Saturday Aug 26, downtown Silvis will be transformed into a block party like none other. There will be crafts, a cruise-in, free activities for kids, live music, the only lighted parade in the Quad Cities and more!

The festivities kick off at 8 a.m. with the Silvis 5K Run and the ½ mile Kiddie Run. To register for the run, that begins at Schadt Park in Silvis, go to https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=125305.

The Craft and Vendor Show will begin at 1 p.m. The Silvis Cruise-In will run from 2-6 p.m. behind Frank’s Pizzeria. The free Kids Zone with a petting zoo, bounce houses, face painting, balloon art and much more will be open from 3-7 p.m. Live music will be playing on two stages from 3-7 p.m.

The magnificent Moonlight Parade will begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) with the theme of ‘America At Play’. You do not want to miss this amazing display of lighted floats.

New for this year, there will be Mainstreet Business specials throughout the day! A bus service will be transporting patrons from both Wal-Mart and Jewel in Silvis to the festivities downtown between 5-10 p.m.
