Hop On Down To Moline For This Holiday ShindigDowntown Moline will be kicking off the 2017 Holiday Season this weekend with a brand-new event, Holiday Hop!

This inaugural Moline Centre Holiday Hop involves over 40 unique stores, restaurants and much more! On Friday Nov 17 from 4-7 p.m. this free event will provide to be a magical and memorable evening for all.

An array of family-friendly events will be available, including children’s holiday movies at the Black Box Theatre and the Boys & Girls Club. There will also be live music, arts, crafts, in-house specials, food, refreshments, interactive games, carolers, and even Santa!

Acupoint Health Connection, located at 1411 6th Ave will have Swing/Salsa and R&B Music in their Movement Studio. ArtsyBug Studio, located at 425 17th St, will be hosting a Holiday Family Painting Night. Bent River Brewing Company, located at 1413 5th Ave will be celebrating with S’Mores on the Patio and complimentary hot chocolate for kids from 4:30-6:30. And that’s only to name a few of the special events happening! AF Studio, located at 421 19th St will have an Art Gallery Open House. Artist Aimee Ford will be showcasing some of her art students’ work, including masterpieces from her Lil’ Pugcasso and Wild Warholian summer classes. Aimee shares, “My business space is new to the downtown area and I am truly excited to be welcomed with open arms by being included in the Hop. This Holiday Hop is a great way for the Moline community to come see what my shop and all of the shops down here are all about!”

You can also view Aimee’s artistic ability on the First Midwest Bank’s north facing windows, PUB 1848’s south facing windows and her own windows at AF Studio!

WaterMark Corners, located at 1500 River Dr, will be hosting a Holiday Hop Happy Hour. They will have specialty drinks with PUB 1848’s pop-up pub, 50% off any one item, kiddie cocktails, a book signing by local author and illustrator Wes Pranschke and live music from Yoyo y Yo featuring Greg Aguilar and Brent Haydon.

In addition to performing with Yoyo y Yo, Greg Aguilar is the director of the Quad Cities Chamber’s Young Professionals and Workforce Development. He is excited to be a part of this new Moline event and shared, “When businesses and the community engage with each other through events like the Moline Holiday Hop we create an experience that can build lasting relationships between customers and local business. These events are a lot of fun and allow local talent to perform for new audiences while bringing in people to businesses that they may not have experienced before.”

Make plans to hop on Downtown Moline this Friday night for an evening filled with holiday fun! And don’t worry about having to travel on foot to each of the participating businesses because there will be free trolley service available!
