Winter blues got you down? Well, Refit wants to get you up, moving around and Jingle Jamming your way through the chill and stress at their annual Jingle Jam at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Refit, 3003 Mulberry Ave., Muscatine.

Not only is it a party, it’s the last Refit class of the year, and newbies can get in free to check out the cardio dance workout, talk about new year’s resolutions, mix and mingle with other Refitters and maybe win some fabulous prizes.

“It’s a great way to get rid of that holiday stress we’ve all been feeling,” said Kay Miller, instructor at the event. “It’s 45 minutes of cardio dance and 15 minutes of door prizes and other fun. You do not want to miss it. Bring your friends out this Thursday and let’s dance the old year away!”

Folks are invited to wear their Santa hats, jingle skirts or various other holiday gear. This is the first time Refit has leapt into such an event.

“I thought it would be a really good idea,” Miller said. “Like I said, the holidays can be a stressful time for a lot of people and exercise is a good way to burn that stress off. Also, the new year is right around the corner and a lot of people will be making the resolution to start exercising, so this is a great way to start. And it’s just a fun way to meet people and mingle and get out and have a good time.”

And a good time in multiple respects, she said. Refit doesn’t just offer fitness classes, but is also involved in various charitable organizations and endeavors in the community.

“We’re a total body program, we’re fitness for the body, mind and soul,” Miller said. “We refit people from the inside out and we’re very inclusive. We’re open to people of all shapes, sizes, weights and fitness levels.

“We’re really happy to see new people there!” she said. “It’s a great way to celebrate good health and the holidays!”
