The holidays are a special time for family gatherings and sharing memories of those who have passed. The Genesis Remembrance Tree in Davenport will celebrate the memories of loved ones for the 18th consecutive year.

The Genesis Remembrance Tree illuminates the continuing need for access to quality hospice care in the region. The tree lighting ceremony will be held on Monday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. outside the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, 2546 Tech Drive, Bettendorf.

Genesis Remembrance Tree Honors Memory of Loved OnesParking will be available at 2535 Maplecrest Road adjacent to the hospice house.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for this special service of readings, music and moments of reflection.

This year’s Genesis Remembrance Tree will be sponsored by Whelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory; Good Samaritan Services at Home; McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home; and, American Bank and Trust.

Individual “light” sponsors are invited to make a donation of $10 or more to honor the memory of a loved one. All proceeds will benefit Genesis Hospice Services.

Since 2004, the Genesis Remembrance Trees have honored more than 7,000 individuals and raised more than $100,000 for hospice care services.

Genesis Hospice has once again partnered with Isabel Bloom to create a beautiful limited edition ornament. The ornament sale provides loved ones a way to adorn their own tree with loving thoughts of those they wish to always remember.

Ornaments are available for purchase online at: https://bit.ly/GenesisRemembranceTree. The ornaments can also be purchased with cash or credit card at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Ornament pick-up begins on November 16, 8 a.m-8 p.m. Monday through Friday at the hospice house.

Genesis Hospice is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team to assist in managing symptoms, as well as enhancing quality of life. The common goal of all hospice services is to provide the patient and family with comfort.
