For 14 years, Geneseo’s Seth Ernst Soccer Slam has been an annual tradition of fun and competition for area kids loving the game of soccer.

Geneseo's Seth Ernst Soccer Slam Canceled, Will Return In 2022

Teams like these boys from the EMSSC Spartans U13 unfortunately won’t get to enjoy the thrill of competition and fun during the annual Seth Ernst Soccer Slam this year.

This year, for the first time since its inception, it won’t be held.

Seth Ernst officials announced they’re canceling the event for 2021 due to covid, looking to start it up again in 2022.

The following email was sent out to area soccer coaches and team officials:

Greetings Fans of Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam!

Our Executive Committee met to determine whether our 15th annual Slam could take place, and Geneseo's Seth Ernst Soccer Slam Canceled, Will Return In 2022it was decided that in the best interests of all involved, we’d cancel for 2021.

Please share this as you see fit. It will be posted on social media later today.

The support shown to the Ernst Family and our Committee over the last 14 years has been nothing short of AMAZING, so we hope you’ll look for us in 2022!

I just happen to have some dates looking ahead to a brighter tomorrow:

January 28 – 30, 2022  Ages 6 – 11 and U2Old

February 25 – 27, 2022 Ages 12 – 14/15 and Geneseo High School

Virtual hugs to you all and “for the love of the game,” stay safe.
