If you’ve got a tot who’s into Thomas, a friend with a wanderlust or anyone in your life who’s a fan of trains, you’ll want to trek down to the German Heritage Center, 712 W. 2nd St., Davenport this weekend for their salute to trains event.

Quad Cities folk musician Chris Dunn and storyteller Roald Tweet, of Rock Island Lines fame on WVIK Augustana College Public Radio, will present “Stories and Songs of the Railroad,” at 2 p.m. Sunday. You can hear the tales and tunes inspired by our rich Quad Cities railroading past.
While you’re at the center, you can also visit its temporary exhibit “Crossing the Tracks of Time: Quad Cities Railroad History” on display through April 10. Regular admission fees apply.
