chaos emeraldsThink you won’t get enough cool music and vibes from River Roots Live? Going to be looking for an after-party venue after the LeClaire Park festival shuts down its lights Saturday night? Well, check out RaggedTrotter, because it’s the spot for you.

This year the official after-party for River Roots has moved to the downtown Davenport’s Daytrotter building, just blocks from the River Roots festival at 324 Brady St.  As the music is winding down on the riverfront, things will be taking off at RaggedTrotter.

“This years event is a bit smaller, but it’s the first time we’re doing it a the new Daytrotter venue,” said organizer Bob Herington, owner of Ragged Records. “I think scaling it back this year and having it as the official after-party is a great idea.”

RaggedTrotter will feature live music from Nashville’s Chaos Emeralds, and Chicago’s Discoveries of the American Scientific. DJ sets from the Quad Cities’ Just Let Go DJ’s. Guest MC is Jon Burns of Centaur Noir.

“The lineup is really strong/cool with two amazing new electronic bands,” Herington said. “One from Chicago, The Discoveries of the American Scientific, 80’s inspired electro-pop ala OMD or Thomas Dolby.  From Nashville, Chaos Emeralds, really amazing new electronic dance.  Also featured are the local dance DJ’s, Just Let Go.”

The gig  has doors open at 10:30 with the show starting at 11 p.m. Tickets to the 19-plus event are $5. To get advance tickets see:

“I feel that Raggedtrotter is in it’s infancy and has great long term potential to add another element to River Root Live,” Herington added. “Raggedtrotter grew out of my interest in wanting to help support River Roots Live.  Ragged Records sponsors a band each year at the festival and I wanted to come up with another way to help.  I approached River Root Live with Daytrotter for last years fest and together we came up this event.”
