Autumn is officially upon us. And what a better way to celebrate than with a Pumpkin Extravaganza?

Celebrate the fall season with Pumpkin Extravaganza at the Quad City Botanical Center (2525 4th Ave Rock Island) every Sunday, beginning this Sunday Sep 30 through Oct 21 from 12:30 – 3 p.m. Each week will feature a fall-themed family friendly activity.

All Pumpkin Extravaganza events are included with general admission. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 2-15 and free for children under 2. No reservations are required, these are drop-in events.

Here are the weekly Pumpkin Extravaganza events:

Sunday Sep 30                 Gourd Fest

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of gourd games throughout the gardens (weather permitting), crafts and activities. You can also enjoy gourd vendors to find those one of a kind craft items.

Sunday Oct 7                   Build-A-Scarecrow

Your whole family is invited to build your own scarecrow! Start with straw, some creative clothing and let your imagination run wild as you create a custom scarecrow while supplies last!

All materials will be included with general admission cost or membership, but guests are encouraged to bring any old clothing to make your scarecrow unique to your family. Scarecrows will be named, labeled by family name and put on display in our gardens. Scarecrows can be picked up any time after Oct 27.

Sunday Oct 14                 Pumpkin Painting

Keep the mess of pumpkin decorating out of your kitchen and let QCBC handle it! Bring the whole family to paint pumpkins while supplies last while surrounded by the setting of the gorgeous fall gardens.

All materials for painting are included with general admission cost or membership, including pumpkins. Each child will receive one pumpkin to paint as their own. Additional pumpkins can be purchased for $3.

Sunday Oct 21                 Putt Putt Patch

The Pumpkin Extravaganza events end with a new way to love Fall even more! Experience fall gardens in a whole new way by playing mini-golf and other games in them!
