Pokemon Pub Crawl Pops Into Q-C Saturday
Gotta catch ‘em all, gotta drink . . . some of ‘em, or you’re going to be chucking up your Pikachu.
Pokemon Go has brought out people by the thousands trying to catch wild Pokemon, to the point where some people (who shall remain unnamed) have turned it into a drinking game, and now, some other people (who are about to be named) are going to turn it into a pub crawl.
The first annual Q-C Pokemon Go pub crawl, sponsored by Scum City Clothing Co., is taking place from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday beginning at LeClaire Park in Davenport and rolling through the local taverns downtown.
According to the event’s facebook page, once everyone heads downtown, the three teams will divide and follow separate routes along the crawl, each trying to collect as many raffle tickets as possible along the way. To earn a raffle ticket, you have to show your app when buying a drink and place it in your team’s container. The team with the most tickets by the end of the night will be declared Champions of the first ever Quad-Cities Pokemon Go Pub Crawl. You have to write your name and phone number on your ticket before placing it in your team’s bin for a chance to win some cool prizes. One winner will be drawn from each container at every participating bar.
Participants are invited to dress in their team color and Valor, Instinct, and Mystic shirts, designed by QC Graphics, will be available to purchase at the start of the event outside the band shell stage.
Also floating around during the crawl will be hundreds of common, uncommon, and rare Pokemon Cards. These will be handed out at random during the course of the night with raffle tickets and might be worth prizes. Patrons are encouraged to be courteous of your staff and tip accordingly, treat everyone with respect and, you never know, the higher you tip you might end up getting a Pokemon Card. Bars with Raffle Tickets & Pokemon Cards will be listed day of the event, along with what cards earn what prizes. Use the hashtag #QCGO to stay updated on all things Pokemon related during the event.
