Throughout our lives, we all have dreams. It may be a situation we imagine ourselves in, or an encounter with an idol that we play over and over in our heads. The outcome of those dreams and desires coming to fruition, may not always leave us feeling satisfied. For one local woman, however, that dream will come true this Friday night.

Described as delivering home-grown country with heart-filled covers, thought-provoking originals and a take-charge attitude, local musician Monica Austin is taking her talents to the next level. As a young aspiring artist, Monica found inspiration among the greats like Martina McBride, Travis Tritt and of course the amazing Wynonna Judd. These country music legends were always enjoyed while imagining herself as a performer on the same stage. With a lifetime of hard work, determination and skill, that day has officially come for this beautifully talented woman.

Monica Austin will be opening for Wynonna & The Big Noise at The Rust Belt (533 12th Avenue East Moline) this Friday Feb 21! Doors open at 7 p.m. and the magic will begin at 8 p.m.

Reserved-seat tickets range from $35 – $85 and can be purchased today at

Whether she is bringing you to tears with the bold, heartfelt glimpse into her past in “Mamas Don’t Leave” or providing an energetic and melodic whiskey high that will have you on your feet in seconds with “The Thomas Davis Show”, Monica will inevitably bring out a wide array of satisfying emotions with her original songs.

Many will feel the lyrics ‘I’m a woman that gave you my man’ to their inner most core, in “Semper Fi” and from the first second “Chicago” hits your ears, you will feel the plight of every artist who knows they have a gift that needs to be shared with all to fall in love with, while struggling with their own desire to find love themselves.

The latest four songs released by Monica Austin Music will be available on EP, which will be sold at The Rust Belt show this Friday. Make sure to grab yourself a copy, because you will definitely find yourself listening to it on repeat.
