augie-symphony-orchestraIt’s the most wonderful time of the year, and what better way to celebrate it than with Christmas at Augustana? The college’s holiday themed extravaganza has its first event taking place on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. It is the Quad Cities Christmas Premier Concert, featuring performances by the Augustana Brass Ensemble, Ascension Ringers, Augustana Symphony Orchestra, Augustana Choir, Augustana Concert Chorale and Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, consisting of three hundred student musicians. Both performances are being held at Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave. Rock Island.

You can order your tickets now at: https://www.augustana.edu/arts/music/celebration-of-christmas.

As a side note: those who are attending the 7 p.m. performance will have a shuttle service available to them running from the vacant lot located directly east of the football stadium at 5th Avenue and 39th Street to Centennial Hall. The first shuttle will leave the lot at 6:15 p.m. and the last shuttle back to the lot will be at about 9:15 p.m. This is due to the large number of expected patrons for both the concert and the men’s basketball game.

Also, the filming of the 2 p.m. performance will be broadcast in the Quad Cities area on Christmas Eve at 9:30 a.m. on channel 8.3, on Christmas Day at 11:30 a.m. on channel 8 and will be available online at http://wqad.com/.
